Equipping the Next Generation
of Academic Leaders

The Dean Institute is a 12-month program designed to support new or recently appointed deans.

What is the Dean Institute?

The Dean Institute is a comprehensive, 12-month, cohort-based program designed specifically for new and recently appointed deans. We bring together subject matter experts, peer learning, 1-1 executive coaching, and access to some of the most accomplished leaders in higher education.

Summer Institute

Critical skill-building in areas such as strategic planning, fundraising, communications, leadership, and governance.

1:1 Executive Coaching

Tailored, personal guidance to help deans navigate leadership challenges and provide support through an entire academic cycle.

Quarterly Virtual Seminars

Ongoing learning and discussion on relevant topics with subject matter experts and cohort peers.

My new deans expressed profound gratitude for their participation in the Dean Institute, noting its immediate impact on their early successes this year. The program enabled them to concentrate on the essential skills required for their roles, while also providing ongoing access to resources through coaching and their cohort network. I strongly encourage all provosts to consider this initiative as a vital means of supporting deans and enhancing their growth and development.
